Recommended intake:
As a dietary supplement, you should take one teaspoon with plenty of water once or twice a day, either in the morning or at lunchtime. Preferably half an hour before meals.
Recommended daily intake: 4 g.

General information:
Psyllium husks: rich in fiber and water-binding
Psyllium husks are the husks of the psyllium seeds, which grow on the Plantago ovata plant. The husks are rich in plant fiber, which can bind large amounts of water. The seed husks are used, for example, as a binding agent in gluten-free baked goods.
Consumption options:
There are various ways to consume psyllium husks. They can be added to muesli or sprinkled on salad. They also make a high-fiber addition to homemade bread. Most people simply stir them into a glass of water. The psyllium husks can also be pre-soaked before consumption. However, in cases of chronic constipation, the seeds should not be pre-soaked. They are said to develop this property only in the intestines.
Recommended intake for intestinal complaints:
The psyllium husk dosage varies from person to person and should be adjusted as needed. Depending on your symptoms, you should take 10-40 grams per day, ideally spread out over the day (1-3 doses per day). Please also read the package insert again.
