If you browse around HANOJU, you will quickly notice that many of our products come in different forms. Some are available as a powder, others as capsules or tablets. On top of that there are oils, dried foods and other variants.
But which form is actually the right one?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends not only on the ingredient, but also on how you want to use a product in everyday life.
So we would like to explain in more detail where the differences lie and why we at HANOJU offer so many different forms.
Powders are particularly practical if a product is to be integrated directly into your diet.
A good example is our collagen powder. It can be stirred into warm drinks, yoghurt, quark, soups or other dishes.
Powders are also very popular for superfoods. Spirulina, barley grass, maca and other plant-based raw materials can be added to water, smoothies or meals, for example.
For us, the big advantage of powder is its flexibility.
You can portion the recommended amount with a measuring spoon and decide for yourself what to combine the powder with.
Powders are particularly well suited to people who already like to make smoothies, shakes, muesli or other dishes.
If you regularly make a smoothie in the morning, for example, you can easily add certain plant powders to your existing routine.
Powders can also be practical for larger daily portions.
However, you should not underestimate the taste. A natural product can have its own characteristic flavour. That is simply part of many powders.
Capsules are another option.
They are easy to portion and require no preparation. Especially if you are often on the go or short on time in the morning, this can be a decisive advantage.
At HANOJU, for example, you will find various mushroom products as capsules. Organic products such as certain algae or plants are also offered in capsule form.
The main advantage lies in the uncomplicated use.
You don't open a pack of powder, you don't need a measuring spoon and you don't have to stir anything into a drink.
This is important to us.
Just because a product is offered as a capsule does not mean it is fundamentally better than the same product as a powder.
Rather, they are different ways of using a raw material.
If you like adding powder to your smoothie, for example, you will probably get on better with that.
If, on the other hand, you prefer the simplest and most taste-neutral option, you may find capsules more practical.
Tablets are also among the most common forms of food supplements.
One advantage is the clearly defined amount per tablet. This makes it easy to keep track of your daily portion based on the respective product information.
At HANOJU, for example, spirulina, chlorella, barley grass, maca and various mushroom products are available in tablet form.
Tablets are therefore particularly interesting for anyone who wants as little effort as possible with daily use.
At first glance, capsules and tablets seem quite similar. In both cases, the contents are offered in a solid form.
The difference lies, among other things, in the manufacturing process and the composition.
A tablet is pressed from the relevant components under pressure. A capsule, on the other hand, has a shell that encloses the contents.
For our products, the composition of the capsule shell can also be relevant. For certain products, for example, we use plant-based capsule shells.
That is why it is always worth taking a look at the ingredients list and the respective product description.
Not every product has to be offered as a powder, capsule or tablet.
Some products work particularly well as an oil.
Our HANOJU Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is a good example. It can be used in both solid and liquid form and is suitable for cooking and baking, among other things.
Its consistency changes depending on the temperature.
This is a good example of how the natural form of a product can itself be part of how it is used.
Dried foods are also part of the HANOJU range.
Our organic goji berries, for example, are sold as dried fruit.
Here, the focus is not on taking a food supplement in the classic sense. The berries can be eaten straight away or added to muesli and other dishes, for example.
For us, this is an important distinction:
Not every product in our shop is automatically a food supplement.
We also carry foods and natural products that can be integrated into your diet quite normally.
With our mushroom products in particular, there is another distinction:
Powder is not the same as extract.
A powder is essentially made by processing and drying the starting material.
With an extract, on the other hand, a certain part of the constituents is specifically obtained from the raw material and concentrated.
That is why, when comparing two products, you should not simply look at the milligram figure.
1000 mg of powder and 1000 mg of extract are not automatically equivalent.
For our mushroom extracts, we therefore provide – depending on the product – additional information on the composition and the polysaccharide content.
If you are interested in reishi, hericium, maitake, cordyceps or other mushrooms, you should therefore always look at the exact product description.
We wouldn't make the decision that complicated at all.
Simply ask yourself three questions:
1. Do I want to mix the product into food or drinks?
Then powder may be interesting.
2. Do I want as little effort as possible when using it?
Then capsules or tablets may be practical.
3. Do I want to use a food directly?
Then seeds, berries or other natural products, for example, are an option.
This already narrows down the choice considerably.
Let's take spirulina.
With spirulina, you can choose between powder and tablets, for example.
The powder goes well with smoothies or other drinks.
The tablets, on the other hand, are practical if you don't necessarily want the characteristic taste of spirulina in your drink.
The raw material does not suddenly become something different just because the form is different.
It is much more about which way of using it fits better into your own everyday life.
When choosing, it is also worth looking at the quantity per pack.
A large pack sounds attractive at first. What matters, however, is how long it actually lasts at the recommended daily portion.
For some products, we therefore state not only the total content but also the number of capsules, tablets or daily portions.
This makes it easier to compare different products with each other.
Of course, the form of a product is not the only criterion.
At least as important to us are:
the raw materials used
the composition
the origin
the processing
the dosage
a clear, verifiable product description
A powder with a simple ingredients list can be just as interesting as a carefully formulated capsule product.
That is why we don't just look at what a product looks like, but above all at what is actually in it.
In theory, we could offer many products in just one form.
That would make the shop simpler.
But it would not necessarily make our customers' everyday lives simpler.
One person wants to add a powder to their smoothie in the morning.
The next wants to take capsules along.
Someone else prefers tablets.
And yet another would rather use a food like chia seeds or goji berries directly.
That is exactly why HANOJU offers different forms.
We think that the question "What is better – powder, capsules or tablets?" is not really the right question.
More interesting is:
"Which form suits me best?"
After all, a product that fits perfectly into your daily routine is usually easier to use regularly than one that is cumbersome to use every time.
If you like making smoothies, you might find powder interesting.
If you are often on the go, you may prefer capsules.
If you like things simple and precisely portioned, you might reach for tablets.
And if you prefer to enjoy foods as directly as possible, you will also find plenty of options at HANOJU.
That is why our range is deliberately diverse.
From powders, capsules and tablets to oils, seeds and dried fruits, there are different ways to integrate natural products into your everyday life.
We don't want to say that one form is fundamentally the right one.
Rather, we want to show what options there are.
Because in the end, everyone decides for themselves what suits their own diet, daily routine and personal preferences.
And that is exactly why we built our HANOJU shop: with a wide selection of natural products in different forms, so that everyone can find the variant that really works in their everyday life.
